Cinnamon Apple Bread Recipe

Made with simple ingredients and a touch of love, it’s an easy recipe that fills your kitchen with the irresistible aroma of fall. Whether serving it fresh out of the oven or toasted with a smear of butter, this bread will become a family favorite.

Ingredients

For the Bread:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk (whole milk or your choice)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and diced (use Honeycrisp apples for best results.)

For the Cinnamon Sugar Swirl:

  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

For the Glaze (Optional but delicious!):

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 12 tbsp milk
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan and line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. Prepare the Batter:
    • Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl.
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and sugar. Add the eggs, milk, and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
    • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
    • Fold in the diced apples.
  3. Make the Cinnamon Sugar Swirl:
    • In a small bowl, mix together the sugar and cinnamon.
  4. Assemble the Bread:
    • Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
    • Sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar mixture over the batter.
    • Add the remaining batter on top and finish with the rest of the cinnamon sugar.
    • Use a butter knife to gently swirl the cinnamon sugar into the batter for a marbled effect.
  5. Bake:
    • Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes clean. 
    • Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  6. Make the Glaze (Optional):
    • In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled bread.
  7. Serve:
    • Slice and serve your delicious apple bread! Its perfect on its own or paired with butter or cream cheese.

Notes

  • Use firm apples like Honeycrisp, Granny Smith, or Fuji to balance sweetness and tartness.
  • You can add 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts or pecans to the batter for extra texture.
  • This bread freezes well. Wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and store it in a freezer bag for up to 3 months.
